LMS/IMA Joint Meeting 2024

The °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Êis delighted to announce the 2024 LMS/IMA Joint Meeting on 'Mathematics for the Environment'.

Our environment is a complex, ever-evolving system of diverse physical processes operating and interacting at varying scales in both space and time. Analysing and quantifying these processes not only reveals important insights into the world around us but enables us to better assess the impacts of human activities, climate change, and biodiversity loss, essential for developing sustainable practices and protecting our planet. The mathematics involved in environmental research spans numerous branches, providing crucial tools such as methods for handling and analysing large multifaceted datasets, mathematical models for complex dynamical systems, and algorithms for efficient optimisation and simulation. The aim of this meeting is to bring together experts from a broad range of mathematical disciplines to highlight current research developments within this important area, and to share knowledge of how mathematics is used to enhance our understanding of the environment and address environmental challenges.

We welcome all who are interested to attend this event, with registration open both to LMS/IMA Members and to non-members.
